Tiny Desk AI Video Guides

By Tiny Desk AI · Last updated

These guides cover the part of the Outstanding Tiny Desk trend that happens before you press the button. Our Tiny Desk AI generator swaps in the faces and keeps every move of Charlie Wilson's performance, but it cannot decide who sings lead, which photo to send or how to share the result. Those choices are what make one version hilarious and another forgettable, so each guide takes one of them and works through it in plain steps.

What decides how your version turns out

Every guide here comes back to the same four things. Get them right and the generator has very little left to guess.

  • Who is in it. With 5 seats in the band, casting is the joke: a friend nobody expects on lead vocals lands harder than a careful lookalike, and any seat you skip simply keeps its original musician.
  • The photos. The AI only knows a face from the picture you give it, so one person per shot, looking at the lens in decent light, matters more than anything you choose afterwards.
  • The version you pick. 10 or 15 seconds and 480p or 720p change how the clip feels and what it costs. A full band reads better in higher quality, while a quick solo reply rarely needs it.
  • Where it goes. A vertical clip made for TikTok, Reels and Shorts still needs the right caption, the right tags and a yes from everyone in it before it goes public.

How to use these guides

Start with the guide that matches your question. Each one stands on its own: it opens with a finished example, walks through the decisions in order and ends by sending you back to that example, so you can compare the result with what you just read.

We add a new guide when the same question keeps coming up, whether it is about a team version, a pet in the band or a closer face match. The list below always shows every guide we have published.
